Bodysurfer riding a small clear wave with one arm extended close to shore

There is no equipment barrier in bodysurfing and no learning curve you can buy your way past. You get better by reading water and spending time in it. Which is why most of what gets written about technique is either too vague to use, or written by someone who has a board under them.

This is the technique side of the site. How to catch a wave with nothing in your hands, how to get under one when it beats you, how bodysurfing actually differs from the board sports, and what to expect when you are starting out. Start at the top and work down.
