Links that earn me nothing
Some of the gear I rate isn’t sold on Amazon at all. Ecto Handplanes is one example – Australian made, worth your money, and only available direct or through Australian surf shops. I link to them anyway and earn nothing when you buy. They’re on the list because they’re good, not because they pay.
Where a brand sells through Amazon as well as direct, I’ll usually link to Amazon, and that link earns a commission. Where I’ve linked straight to a maker’s own site instead, I say so on the page.
How I pick what goes on the list
I’ve been bodysurfing Australian beaches my whole life and I’ve used a fair bit of this gear myself. Where I haven’t used something personally, I’ll say so and tell you what I’m basing the call on – materials, design, what other bodysurfers report, or the brand’s track record.
I don’t accept payment for placement. No brand has paid to be ranked higher on this site, and none will. If something I’ve recommended turns out to be rubbish, I’ll pull it and say why.
Prices and availability change constantly. Anything I quote was accurate when I wrote it – check the retailer for the current price before you buy.
